W is for Watermelon

Is there a better summer fruit than the watermelon?  Methinks not.
To introduce the letter "Ww" to the kids today and tie in the theme of summer that we have going on.

I cut some paper plates in 1/2...and we painted them to look like watermelons

Then we practiced writing the letter "Ww" and making its sound.
I told the kids,
"You go down the slide and up the slide...down the slide and up the slide..."

The only thing left to do was to add the seeds...

Don't they look good enough to eat?!
